Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026.

This policy describes the information Stateside Explained (statesideexplained.com) handles when you visit the site. It covers only practices we have confirmed as of the date above.

What we do not ask for

Stateside Explained does not currently offer visitor accounts, a newsletter signup, comments, or a contact form, and we do not sell visitor information. We do not currently run advertising or analytics scripts on the site.

What is handled automatically

Like most websites, this site is served by a hosting company and uses software that may process technical data about your visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, and the time of the request. This data is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.

  • Hosting: the site is hosted by Hostinger. See the Hostinger privacy policy for how it handles data.
  • Caching and security: plugins on the site, including a caching plugin (LiteSpeed Cache) and a security plugin (Wordfence), may process technical data such as IP addresses to speed up pages and block malicious traffic.
  • Hostinger Reach: a script from Hostinger Reach, Hostinger’s email tool, loads on pages. We do not currently send email through it.
  • Cloudflare: Cloudflare manages the site’s domain name (DNS) records and provides the email routing described below.

If you email us

You can write to hello@statesideexplained.com. If you do, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to read and answer you. Email sent to this address passes through Cloudflare’s email routing service, which forwards it to a private mailbox. Please do not send sensitive personal information by email.

Comments

Comments are turned off on this site, so we do not collect comment data.

Cookies

Visitors who only read the site are not given a login cookie. WordPress sets cookies for people who log in to the site, which is limited to the site’s administrator.

The Hostinger Reach script mentioned above is served from a Hostinger domain. When it loads, your browser may receive a short-lived security cookie from that domain (named __cf_bm, used for bot protection). We do not set or use this cookie for advertising or analytics, and we do not control it. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Our articles link to official sources such as government websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.

Changes to this page

If we add analytics, advertising, a newsletter, comments, or a contact form, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
